An incredible South African has decided to use his passion to help others get fit… while helping charity at the same time!

Matthew Hurst, a passionate fitness enthusiast from Cape Town has decided to run beach workouts starting in October.

The concept is simple… he’ll hold the classes on the main beach in Strand (Cape Town) & the only payment he’s asking for, is a donation for charity (old clothes blankets, tinned food, pet food for animal shelters etc) that he will then donate to various charities.

Everyone wins!

This was the post that started it all.

I’ve decided to start my beach workouts again starting on 1 October 2015. They will be free, but I do ask that you bring one of the following along:

– a donation of non-perishable food
– a piece of clothing or a blanket
– a tin of pet food

Obviously you can still join in if you don’t bring anything, I’d just like to use this opportunity to have fun, get fit and help others.

The workouts will be Monday to Thursday at 6pm and we’ll meet at Deep Blue.

I’ll be sticking to basic body weight exercises since I’m not a certified personal trainer and I don’t want any injuries but body weight exercises are among the most effective, so you’ll still get a great workout!
