Global (31 July 2026) – From the football field in Morocco to the dance floor in Scotland and the netball court at the Commonwealth Games, South African teams are preparing for important moments on the international stage.

Banyana Banyana Face a Crucial WAFCON Test

The pressure is already building for Banyana Banyana at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, with South Africa preparing for a key group-stage clash against Ivory Coast.

Banyana Banyana need to finish at least second in Group B to progress in the tournament and remain in contention for qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil.

While the match presents one of their toughest tests of the group stage, it is also an opportunity for the South African side to show the quality that helped them lift the continental title in 2022.

Team South Africa’s Dancers Step Onto the World Stage

South Africa’s top young lyrical dancers are ready to bring their passion and performances to Dundee, Scotland, as the World Lyrical Dance Championships get under way.

The team will compete in a range of events, including lyrical, acro and lyrical duets, after earning their places through provincial qualifying competitions across the country.

Netball South Africa Set Sights on Fifth Place

Team South Africa will have one final opportunity to end their Commonwealth Games campaign on a positive note when they take to the court in the fifth-place play-off on Friday.

South Africa’s hopes of progressing further were ended following their Group A defeat to England, but the team remains determined to finish the tournament strongly.

From Banyana Banyana chasing a place in the WAFCON quarter-finals to young dancers ready to shine in Scotland and the Proteas looking to finish strongly in Glasgow, South African fans will once again have to look forward to.
