St Alban’s College boys rocked the school runway with trashion looks they designed and brought to life using recycled materials and discarded clothes!
Pretoria, South Africa (04 August 2026) – St Alban’s College hosted its annual Cultural Festival over three days in July, celebrating the diversity of South African culture through house plays, cook-offs, chess and Rubik’s Cube tournaments and more.
One very special part of the celebrations was the school’s first-ever Trash to Trend Fashion Show. The Visual Art Department challenged the boys to think outside the box and design their own sustainable fashion pieces using recycled materials, trash and discarded clothing. They then took to the runway to model their final looks!
“The evening was a celebration of imagination, innovation and sustainability, with our boys transforming recycled materials and discarded clothing into remarkable fashion pieces. Every design reflected originality, craftsmanship and the courage to think differently.” the school shared.
Every student rocked the runway in their trash-to-treasure creations – a number of budding designers made their debut!
The school’s Knapp Fischer House took top honours in the runway competition, claiming first place with its runway-ready trashion.
