After winning a championship in her rookie season, Morgan Jacobs is chasing bigger dreams on some of the world’s most iconic circuits.
Johannesburg, South Africa (10 June 2026) – Morgan Jacobs was supposed to take a few laps around the karting circuit, but instead fell in love.
Lap after lap, the young South African kept going, repeatedly asking for “just one more lap”. What began as a casual opportunity to try a spare kart quickly sparked a passion.
Growing up around racing, Jacobs spent much of her childhood watching her father compete. While motorsport was always part of her life, she never imagined she would one day become a racing driver herself.
That changed in early 2024 when her younger brother started karting.
“My dad bought a second kart as a spare, and one day he told me to get in and try it. The first time I got into the kart, I couldn’t get out. I just kept doing lap after lap.”
Although she enjoyed karting, it was only when she climbed into a circuit racing car for the first time at Red Star Raceway that she realised motorsport could become much more than a hobby.
“I thought, ‘No, I want this. This is something I want to do for the rest of my life.’”
The support of her family has been central to that dream. When it came time to build her first race car, the entire family got involved. That support helped fuel an impressive rookie season in long circuit racing, where Jacobs secured the Silvercup 2.0 Class A+ Championship.
The title gave her more than just silverware.

Among the highlights of her championship-winning campaign was competing at Kyalami International Circuit for the first time.
“It’s intimidating when you drive out of the pits for the first time. But once you start understanding the track and what it wants from you, it becomes an amazing experience.”
Her performances soon caught the attention of Pablo Clark Racing, where she earned a place in the team’s development programme after competing against three other female drivers for a coveted seat.
Today, Jacobs races a BMW E46 330i in the BMW M Performance Parts Race Series and continues to gain valuable experience at some of the country’s top circuits. Looking ahead, Jacobs has her sights set on GT3 racing and competing at iconic international circuits such as Spa-Francorchamps.
“I love the cars, the sound and the endurance aspect of it. To do what those drivers do for hours at a time is incredibly inspiring.”
For young girls hoping to follow a similar path, Jacobs encourages them to embrace every opportunity that comes their way.
“Grab every opportunity with both hands. Even if you’re nervous, just go for it. There is always an opportunity for you somewhere.”
Judging by her journey so far, Morgan Jacobs is doing exactly that.
