VIDEO: Ecstatic Reunion As Pup is Reunited with Owner After Two Months!

A video has gone viral of a Durbanite finding his lost pup after a two-month search!

Durban, South Africa (10 July 2021) – Losing a pet is every dog lover’s worst nightmare, and such was the case of the Durbanite Mohamed Safwan Amod, whose beloved White Swiss Shepherd escaped from his yard.

The drama unfolded when Romeo and a puppy belonging to his cousin bolted after the gate of Amod’s Queensburgh home was accidentally left open.

Amod made every effort to look for his much-cherished canine.

“We searched for Romeo everywhere. We put up pamphlets, posters and even messages on social media, but we did not receive any positive feedback,” he said.

Two months passed, but despite all search efforts, the duo was nowhere to be found. So, it was something of a miracle when Amod’s uncle came across an adoption advert on Facebook with Romeo’s picture on it.

They immediately contacted the photographer of the advert, who referred them to the Kloof and Highway SPCA.

“We contacted the SPCA on Sunday night and told them that it was our dog. Unfortunately, I had to wait until the next day to meet him, but they were very helpful,” said Amod.

“There are no words that can really describe it until you lose someone close to you in your family and then find him again. It was a big void in my heart that has been filled.”

In a statement released by the SPCA, they said they received a “frantic phone call” from a dog owner who said his pet was in their care.

“First thing on Monday morning when we opened our doors the family was there waiting and ready to claim their beloved pet and member of their family,” they said.

The heart-warming reunion saw an exuberant Romeo greet his owner before heading off home.

“You don’t understand the excitement and joy I am feeling right now to have him back,” said an elated Amod.

Thankfully, two-year old Romeo was in excellent health, and Amod reports that he is super happy to be back with his family.
