A German artist uses wood and a chainsaw to create life-like African animals that look so real they could give you a fright if caught unaware.
Jürgen Lingl-Rebetez is an award-winning German artist who specializes in wood carving. When he started pursuing his passion for art as a career in his early 20’s, he focused on his painting skills. He began his artistic career as a painter in his early 20s but soon discovered wood carving and versatile it was as an art medium.
He moved to Switzerland in 1996, which is around the time he started trying his hand at chainsaw art. He became incredibly talented and has thus gone on to win awards for his art.
Jürgen’s wood artworks create an impression of 3D paintings drawn with a chainsaw where the number of details gives an impression that his creations might come to life at any moment, and accurate strokes add strength and personalities to his subjects.
Jürgen Lingl-Rebetez’s works are found both in private and in public collections across Europe, the US, Canada, Russia, Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong.
