Polish historian and political scientist Jerzy Targalski was being interviewed by a Dutch reporter when Lisio the cat decided to interrupt the serious chat.
Polish historian and political scientist Jerzy Targalski was being interviewed on Dutch TV by an NTR reporter about the forced removal of Polish judge Malgorza Gersdorf by the PiS party (the governing party in Poland). It was a very serious political discussion.
The country is being criticised by the EU for undermining judicial independence by reducing the age of retirement of its judges from 70 to 65, forcing some judges to step down immediately.
During the serious discussion, a big ginger cat called Lisio climbed onto Jerzy’s shoulder. Jerzy could have removed the cat from the shot and carried on. Instead, he let the cat purch on his shoulders and just moved its tail.
People are praising Jerzy for his reaction to the interuption. And many are comparing it to the viral BBC dad interview that went haywire last year March.
“I know nothing about this man but I bet he’s a good person. That cat loves him to pieces. Either that or he’s bathed in catnip” – @shuboogie
“Stealing the show. That cat is a complete ham. Note the “My tail is your mustache.” – @zkgrumpy
“That is a man who takes very good care of his cat. And the cat loves him back soooo much!” – @littleblackbow
“This looks like a fairly everyday occurance for this bloke, he didn’t miss a beat. Probably didn’t see it as an interruption.” – @Gill
