Carryn-Ann Nel turned to Twitter in her moment of need, asking for advice on how to prove she was winning at life to her parents, the responses are brilliant
When in need of anything information-based, the internet is the place to turn. That is exactly what Journalist Carryn-Ann Nel did when expecting her family for lunch.
She needed a few extra tips to show them she was making good life decisions. She had made up a list of her own which included cleaning her home properly, throwing away the evidence of empty wine bottles and placing a few Bibles around her home. She also included a making an edible meal to the list but she wanted to know what else she could do to be sure they would be happy with her choices.
Her Twitter thread started as follows:
“My family is coming over for lunch today and I must show them proof of my good life decisions. Things that I need to do includes proper cleaning, throwing away all my empty wine bottles, placing Bibles in strategic places, make an edible dish. What else?”
Her Twitter followers quickly jumped to her aid and gave her a handful of helpful tips to implement around the house to give the impression that things were all good. For example, one follower suggested she make sure the hand towel in the bathroom was clean. Another recommended buying a nice cake for some afternoon tea and room spray to spruce things up a little.
