After the horrific and gut wrenching attack on the Manchester Arena, stories are emerging of peoples genuine acts of kindness towards one another.
Our hearts are with Manchester today! The horror they are busy facing is frighting and we hope that all those located in the city stay safe! The city is on high alert and has already evacuated a second potential attack zone.
Despite the terror the city is facing people have put their fear aside to show kindness to those around them. Various stories are popping up online of people going above and beyond to help as much as they can.
From the moment news broke about the bomb people started raising funds and within 3 hours after they started, they had raised over £50,000 for the Manchester Arena terror attack victims. The Mirror reported,
“Last night, taxi drivers worked for free taking home those stranded by the explosion, people living close to the arena offered up their spare rooms to give people a safe place to stay.”
A movement was started on Twitter under the hasgtag rooms for Manchester, where people were offering a place to rest, charge their phones and have a cup of tea. People also started offering lifts to those in need as the city locked down most transport.
Local hotels also offered spaces for people to stay or reconnect with others. It is comforting to see people come together in times of tragedy! Our thoughts are with everyone lost or affected by this tragedy!
