South Africa’s Amajimbos lift the COSAFA U-17 trophy after a thrilling 2-1 win over Angola, cementing their place at the 2026 TotalEnergies U-17 AFCON.

Harare, Zimbabwe (22 September 2025) – South Africa’s U-17 squad is taking the continent by storm! South Africa’s U-17 soccer stars have made history, claiming the inaugural COSAFA U-17 Africa Cup of Nations | COSAFA Qualifiers title with an electrifying 2-1 victory over Angola at Ngoni Stadium in Harare on Saturday. The young squad, affectionately known as the Amajimbos, showed great teamwork throughout the tournament, capping off their campaign in style.

The win crowns them as kings of Southern Africa and also secures qualification for the 2026 TotalEnergies U-17 AFCON, where a strong performance could open the door to even bigger competitions.
