Through their captivating harmonies and message of unity through song, the Table View Primary School multicultural choir has earned an invite to the prestigious ATKV Applous National Choir Finals in Pretoria.

Cape Town, South Africa (30 June 2025) – Celebrated for their soul-stirring harmonies and captivating multilingual performances, the multicultural choir from Table View Primary School is closer to realising their dream of competing in the ATKV Applous National Choir Finals in Pretoria.

“Hailing from Cape Town, our choir is made up of over 110 young voices, aged 9 to 13, representing a beautiful tapestry of South African cultures and communities. We are proud to be one of the most multicultural school choirs in the region, singing in English, Afrikaans, Sesotho and isiXhosa—a true reflection of South Africa’s rich diversity,” says Table View Primary School Choir’s Bianca Ackerman.

Last year, the choir competed in the Merit Category and placed first at the National Finals in Cape Town.

This year, they have taken the bold step forward by entering the Prestige Section, and against all odds, have once again been invited to the National Finals in Pretoria from July 30 to August 2.

“This is an incredible achievement for our young singers and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to share their passion for music, their discipline and their message of unity through song on a national stage,” Bianca explains.

In a heartwarming response from the public, a significant amount of R238,334 of the R750,000 target has already been raised thanks to the generosity of 74 donors!

With travel from Cape Town to Pretoria involving a large group of young learners, the funds raised will cover transportation, accommodation, meals, and logistical costs, ensuring every child, regardless of background, can be part of this unforgettable experience.

Their inspiring journey highlights not only their musical talent but also the profound impact of collective support in turning dreams into reality.
