Well that didn’t take very long…
The Aussies are not happy with their cricket team and apparently are not afraid to make fun of them either. A radio station in Australia has made a spoof music video mocking their own team.
Australian cricket has recently landed in its biggest crisis for years when Cameron Bancroft was caught by television cameras trying to scuff up the ball with tape. He hid the tape down his trousers when questioned by the umpires, who did not change the ball. But in an extraordinary end-of-play press conference Bancroft admitted ball-tampering and Smith revealed it was the idea of the team management during the lunch break.
Triple J, a government-funded, national Australian radio station decided to weigh in on the conversation and released a video a couple of hours ago, titled “We Cheat at Cricket”.
The evolution of Triple J’s programming and content has apparently always been quite contentious.
In it’s most recent years, commercial stations and conservative types regularly cried foul over the station’s free use of expletives on air and its ability to ignore the censorship restrictions that were in force for commercial radio.
And apparently they are not scared to make fun of the embarrassing situation that their cricket team currently have found themselves in either.
The response on the video from Australians has been nothing but disgust while South Africans cant stop laughing (and sharing it).
Watch the video below:
Yes, one can only laugh at the stupidity of trying to cheat and then being caught out so glaringly. People don’t learn that crime does not pay. Acting unsporting equals criminality, no matter which team/player is involved.
